老牌創作歌手鄭華娟今傳出過世，享壽60歲。她是台灣早期首屈一指的創作才女，在歌壇有一定的地位。
鄭華娟在1980年17歲時，因參加「金韻獎」民歌大賽而受到注目。她因為能寫、能唱、又會製作唱片，是當時少見的全能女歌手。在她40年的創作生涯中累積近300首的作品，出過五張個人專輯。她還做過廣播主持人，也是一名作家，著書頗豐。
鄭華娟寫歌習慣從女性角度為出發點，其歌詞充分反映出女性獨有的敏銳感受。她創作的歌曲以國語居多，但也有為台語歌譜曲的紀錄，如潘越雲的「情字這條路」（作詞：慎芝）、江蕙的「返來阮身邊」（作詞：武雄），均膾炙人口。
鄭華娟在1986年發行第一張個人專輯「紅酒」時，據說唱片公司曾想要把她打造成台灣版的「中島美雪」。雖然最後沒有成真，但似乎也表示當時台灣的唱片業，已經很嚴肅看待中島美雪的音樂了。
According to report, singer-songwriter Huajiuan Zheng(鄭華娟) passed away at the age of 60. She was regarded as a leading female songwriter in Taiwan in the early days.
Zheng attracted attention when she participated in a folk song contest at the age of 17 in 1980. As a female musian, she was able to wrtie, sing and produce songs, a rare case at that time. She had written nearly 300 songs in 40 years and released 5 albums. She was also a radio host and an author.
Zheng wrote songs about women's sensitive feelings from a female perspective. Most of her songs were written in Mandarin. However, she also composed for Taiwanese Hokkien songs, like Michelle Pan (潘越雲)'s "The way of love / 情字這條路" (lyrics by Shen-zhi) and Jody Chiang (江蕙)'s "Come back to me / 返來阮身邊" (lyrics by Wu-hsiung). Both songs are very popular.
When Zheng released her 1st album "Red wine / 紅酒" in 1986, the record company tended to promote her as the Taiwanese version of Miyuki Nakajima. Although it didn't come true in the end, it seems that the Taiwanese company had taken Nakajima's music very seriously at that time.
