「新Project X～挑戰者～」是日本NHK製作的紀錄片節目，主要是講述支持日本經濟的無名英雄的故事。該節目首次播出是在2000年至2005年，因為故事激動人心，在當時很受歡迎，連帶中島美雪演唱的主題曲「地上の星」也跟著流行起來，刷清了不少唱片銷售紀錄。2024年，該節目宣佈重啟，中島美雪再進錄音室為節目重錄主題曲，改名為「新・地上の星」。
重啟後的節目內容以後泡沫經濟時代為主，在日前（8月29日）播出的最新一集內容中，令人驚喜地播出了台灣高鐵的故事，主要是講述日本新幹線首度向海外輸出技術，參與台灣高鐵的建設過程。
值得注意的是，日本新幹線只負責高鐵的軌道鋪設和車輛設計，號誌系統則是來自歐洲，所以曾面臨過技術整合的問題，另外還有台日工作文化不同所造成的衝突。節目訪問了當時參與台灣高鐵建設的關鍵人士，揭露跨國合作的困難與艱辛。
除此之外，如果對台灣高鐵故事感興趣的話，也可以看NHK和台灣公視合作拍攝的電視劇「路～台灣Express～」，是以台灣高鐵建設為背景的愛情故事，目前可在「公視＋」網站免費收看。
"New Project X~Challengers~" is a documentary program produced by NHK of Japan, telling the stories about the unknown heroes behind the Japanese economic. The program first aired from 2000 to 2005, and was very popular due to its inspiring stories. The theme song of the program "Earthly Stars", sung by Miyuki Nakajima, also became a hit at that time. In 2024, The program announced a reboot. Nakajima re-recorded the theme song, renamed "New Earthly Stars."
The rebooted program mainly focused on the post-bubble economy era. The latest episode, which aired on August 29th, is surprisingly about Taiwan's High Speed Rail. It was the first time for Japan to export its bullet train technology overseas to participate the construction of high speed rail in Taiwan.
However, Japan was only responsible of track laying and vehicle design. The signaling system was from Europe. This led to integration problems, as well as conflicts from different work cultures of Taiwan and Japan. The program interviewed the key figures to reveal the difficulties of international cooperation.
