成始璄除了在韓國很受歡迎之外，也很積極在日本市場發展。他的日文很流利，有「日本語能力測試」（JLPT）的N1程度。他在他的YouTube頻道也有教唱日文歌，曾逐句解析中島美雪歌曲「時代」的歌詞。
According to South Korean media, singer Sung Si-kyung, known as "Prince of Ballads", will appear at a large-scale ice dance show in Japan. He will present the performance of singing and skating with world-class figure skaters.
He will perform the song "Every moment of you" from Korean TV drama "My Love from the Star" with the South Korean figure skater Cha Jun-hwan. Next, he and the other 2 figure skaters, Stéphane Lambiel and Miyahara Satoko, will perform the song "Threads / 糸" from Miyuki Nakajima.
Besides being popular in South Korea, Sung is also very active in Japan. he can speaks Japanese very fluently, holding N1 level in the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT). He also teaches Japanese songs on his YouTube channel. He used to analysed the lyrics of "Time Goes Around / 時代", another song from Miyuki Nakajima, in one of his videos.
