因為成員陷入負面爭議，成軍31年的日本樂團TOKIO在官方網站宣佈，即日起宣佈解散。
TOKIO為「傑尼斯事務所」旗下，唯一一組樂團組合，該公司素以推出男偶像聞名。該團具備現場演奏實力，成員也活躍於演戲與主持等各領域，。不過隨著團員陸續退出，該團目前僅存三人。
該團在2006年請中島美雪為其寫了「太空船」（宙船）這首歌，推出首周即成為排行榜冠軍，中島美雪也因此曲而獲得「日本唱片大賞」的最佳作詞獎。該團曾兩度在「紅白歌唱大賽」上演唱此曲，是該團後期的代表作。
